Central Council Bell Restoration Fund - 2005 Grant AwardsApplications were invited early last September, at which time about £13,000 was available for distribution. This included an anonymous donation of £10,000.
By the closing date of 7th October a total of 35 applications had been submitted. Then a further anonymous donation of £5,000 was received; this together with income from the sale of jigsaws, interest and sundry donations, allowed a total of £19,400 to be available for distribution.
We are most grateful to all who support the Fund, but particularly to the anonymous donors whose substantial contributions have made these awards possible.
Not all the applicants were successful. We had previously advertised the criteria and priorities of the Fund, and due to the large number of applications these were applied in order to arrive at a fair distribution of the available money. 26 grants have been offered and accepted.
Whenever there is money in the Fund, the demand for grants is always very heavy and therefore we are always grateful for any donations or legacies.
Yours faithfully,
Kate Flavell
Chairman, Central Council Bell Restoration Committee
