Dove's Guide for Church Bell Ringers

This is the online version of Dove's Guide for Church Bell Ringers, the definitive source for
information about rings of bells since the first printed edition appeared in 1950. The site provides full-featured searching, links to mapping facilities to show the exact
location of towers, satellite navigation data, and details of changes to entries as they occur. Its scope has been
extended by the addition of data for individual bells as a step towards a prototype National Bell Register (the 'proto-NBR').

Diocese naming
It has been drawn to our attention that some unwanted side effects have resulted from the abbreviation we have used hitherto for the full name of certain dioceses. Thus we have reviewed our conventions and changed those which were likely to be so affected. It is hoped that the relevant full name will still be easily inferred.

They are there by way of encouragement to all who have the data to let us have it so that the pNBR details can be as comprehensive as possible. We have recently added indication of the progress being made with bellframes.
Our thanks go to all who keep us updated and are careful about the ensuring the accuracy of what they tell us.
