    Rang his first peal in the Ludlow area around 1912 / 13, emigrated to Canada with his father (no mention of his mother) and returned with the Canadian Army to die in France, Bell news reports he was given a copy of Rev F E Robinson's "Among the Bells" before he left England for Canada) .
