About the Mini-Roadshow

The London 2019 Mini-Roadshow

Goldsmiths College, London SE14 6NW

Welcome to the London 2019 Mini-Roadshow

Organised for all ringers by the Central Council of Church Bellringers, London 2019 brings together everything you need for your ringing, now and in the future for one day at Goldsmiths College, London SE14 6NW on Sunday 8th September.

The success of the Ringing Roadshow at Newbury in 2014, which attracted over 2,000 ringers led to a suggestion of a regular annual event bringing ringing organisations, trade suppliers and ringers together inbetween major Roadshow festivals. The Central Council have devoted some seed funding to this year’s first mini-roadshow and if successful it will be used as a model for future events, held at the same location as the Council’s annual meeting.

  • Start the day by taking the opportunity to join us for service ringing at one of 15 City and nearby churches.

  • A programme of 21 speaker events brings together acknowledged experts from all parts of the ringing world including Bill Hibbert, Simon Linford, Lesley Belcher and Steve Coleman and covers subjects as diverse as the science of bell tuning, the story behind Ringing Remembers, and Project Pickled Egg.

  • Try out one of four Training Bells to see what they could do for your tower, make a mini-bell rope, print a 3-D bell or make some noise on the three mini-rings.

  • Goldsmiths College, close to New Cross Gate station is conveniently located for travel from all parts of London and the South East. Have a picnic on College Green if the weather is kind, or make use of Goldsmiths’s café selling a range of sandwiches, drinks and real ale.
