Application:

Max is 13 and has been ringing since April 2023.
He has completed 46 quarter and 2 peals

Max is a member of the Norfolk young ringers team and also a member of the Suffolk Guild, he has been service ringing for some time, takes charge, calls the changes and helps the other ringers when they are unsure of their place.

Max also helps his teachers in teaching new leaners old or young, we have also travelled to nearly 200 towers to help others and meet new ringers.

He has made links with other young ringers from all over the country via social media regularly ringing with them on Abel or virtual belfry, recently the lads in his group got together in London and Cambridge for outings.

Max has had a Youtube channel from the start of his bellringing journey and is quite well known within the community.
He is well respected in Suffolk for his humble and helpful attitude towards all ringers old and young, offering help and advice when asked.

His latest peal was with some very experienced ringers including the chairman of the Suffolk Guild who spoke very highly of him on completion of the peal, at 13 he is one of the youngest ringers to ring a peal in Suffolk.

His help for new ringers is really inspiring, ringing rounds constantly to help people, i often think it must be boring for him as he is capable of so much, he never complains and is more than happy to help people learn the skill that he loves.

Max has been to council meetings to try to get our local church in Thetford ringing again as it sadly has been silent for many years, his campaign for this has been ongoing for a couple of years , he has featured in 2 of our local magazines promoting bell ringing to get others involved, he does not really enjoy being in the spotlight but is totally committed to the cause.

Max is not the son of a bellringer unlike many of our young ringers, he took it up off his own back and has got myself involved, i now ring with him, ringing for service every Sunday, our first Quarter together was on fathers day which was really quite special.

To be honest i have not really done this application for the money aspect of things although Max would probably spend it on one of the towers we look after/maintain, it is more that Max has been so committed to the cause in so many ways taking an interest in the history, culture and people of this fantastic hobby that he really does deserve to be recognised for his efforts.

His Youtube channel is Max the bellringer it is worth a look if you have any youngsters interested as it shows most aspects from full circle to dumbbell ringing.

Thanks
