Biography

    Born 15/12/1880 and baptised 20/02/1881 at St Thomas Manchester. Son of Thomas Perkins and Annie Perkins of 13 Archer Street, Cheetham, Manchester. Husband of Margaret Perkins (nee McConnell) whom he married on 14/07/1909 at Manchester Cathedral, of 16 Avondale Street Cheetham Hill, Manchester. At the time of the 1911 census he was working as a clerk (poor law). His brother in law, Lance Corporal James McConnell, Royal Scots, also a bellringer at Manchester Cathedral, died of wounds on 07/07/1916 and is buried in Boulogne Eastern Cemetery, France.
