Young Ringers Hub website creation
Young Ringers Hub content creation
The Young Ringers for Ringing 2030 Workgroup is working on the development and implementation of the new Young Ringers Hub website. The Young Ringers Hub (YRH) is a “one stop shop” for all young ringers from school age to age 30, throughout their ringing journey. It includes 4 sub sites – under 18s ringing, University Ringing, a Library of information and a Development Pathways site.
Environments for Ringing 2030:
Dynamic Performance Assessment of Church Bell Towers (through University of Birmingham)
The Environments for Ringing 2030 has been working to expand engineering knowledge within ringing, including Dr Reza Salami’s research on tower movement. This project applies modern structural engineering techniques to heritage conservation, with the aim of improving how churches and cathedrals are assessed and maintained. The work will investigate how full-circle ringing bells influence the dynamic performance of masonry towers, bell frames, and their fixings.
Sponsoring a young ringer for academic research within a relevant project is a first for the Central Council, and could be a blueprint for further research collaborations in other subjects.
